Similar to PNG files, TIFFs are lossless raster files. The Tagged Image File Format, or TIFF, is known for its high quality and is commonly used in photography. Also, TIFF files are larger than other file types, so be careful when using them. In Floor printing , desktop publishing, and scanning artwork and documents, they’re not a popular file extension.
Advantages of TIFFs
Prints high-quality graphics when scanned and printed
A TIFF file format is your best bet if you need a crisp image or a high-quality photograph. In addition to maintaining its quality, TIFF files may be tagged, layered, and even transparent if necessary. The TIFF format is compatible with Adobe Photoshop, though it is not as widely used as PNG, JPG, or PDF files.
Disadvantages of TIFFs
TIFF files are not suitable for web use due to their large image quality and compression. Use a .tif format for exporting your files In case you plan to print the image or scan it with a high-quality scanner.
