Have you ever been stuck for conversation starters when meeting new people? The Austin Biker Gang E-Bike Adventure, a two-hour e-bike adventure that costs $6999, addresses that issue nicely. Aside from exploring the city, you can learn about its history and culture and take cool photographs. The event begins at 506 Walsh St where a helmet, bottled water, and rider training are provided. It should be noted, however, that you should be able to ride an e-bike if you can ride a push bike.

2. UXDX EMEA, Dublin

What is UXDX exactly? You’ve heard of UX (user experience) and UI (user interface). DX stands for developer experience, and so UXDX refers to the relationship between UX Design and DevOps in modern digital design.

Through case studies that explain obstacles and successes, you’ll learn the latest product, UX, design and developer practices from leading companies at this year’s UXDX event in Dublin and online. During the process, you’ll develop T-shaped skills and discover modern digital team techniques. The Royal Dublin Society hosts the event from October 12-14.

Beyond the exhibition

With a story of the Irish diaspora, EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum was chosen as Europe’s Leading Tourist Attraction at the 2019, 2020, and 2021 World Travel Awards. A brilliantly designed museum, this museum aims to make Irish history more than a list of names and dates. A range of interactive exhibits, including video galleries and motion sensor quizzes, allow visitors to learn more about the subject first hand. Located in Custom House Quay, North Dock, Dublin 1, you should spend between one and two hours there.

Las Tapas de Lola, at 12 Wexford Street, is a bustling restaurant offering Spanish tapas, wines, beers and yummy sangria in Dublin’s 2 neighborhood. Anna, a native of Barcelona, and Vanessa, a local girl, founded the restaurant to offer an authentic dining experience. There is no haute cuisine here or flashy interiors, they say. A restaurant where people can feel at home, relax, and eat well. The restaurant is open for dinner from 5-1030pm on Thursdays, 5-11pm on Fridays, 1-11pm on Saturdays, and 1-1030pm on Sundays. Getting a reservation ahead of time will save you time and money.

There are herringbone floors, wooden ceilings, and original paintings at the Devlin hotel, a hip, beautifully designed hotel. But that’s not all. Aside from 40 cosy modern rooms, the hotel also boasts a top-rated rooftop restaurant, a luxury cinema, and a cocktail bar with an Americana theme. There’s one at 117-119 Ranelagh, Dublin 6, in a trendy district south of the city center. The walk to Temple Bar takes about 45 minutes, or you can take the tram which takes about five minutes.

3. Adobe Max

A big event for creatives of all kinds, Adobe Max is one of the world’s largest creative gatherings. With software-focused reveals, sneak peeks, skill-building sessions, and talks by some of the world’s most prestigious creatives, it’s a truly unique mix.

Beyond the exhibition

The Broad is a downtown Los Angeles art institution worth visiting just for its architecture. In terms of architectural wow factor, you get two for one at the contemporary art museum at 221 S Grand Avenue. There are artworks by Warhol and Koonz as well as the latest, cutting-edge practitioners inside the 120000-square-foot space. There is currently a highlight in the form of Yayoi Kusama’s immersive installation Infinity Mirrored Room, in which you can physically enter a mirrored room with LED lights for up to one minute. It is important to note, however, that timed tickets and general admission are free, but you must book in advance.

In Southern California, El Compadre has become a popular spot for Mexican cuisine and beverages since 1975. The building’s clay roof tiles, wrought iron lanterns, and stained glass chandeliers create the feeling of an old-world hacienda. Live music is performed nightly by a trio singing Mexican classics, dimly lit and sultry lighting can be found in this fantastic restaurant, and a separate bar area serves mixed cocktails and imported and domestic beers. On Monday through Thursday, El Compadre is open from 11am to 10pm; on Friday and Saturday, it is open from 11pm to 9pm.
