You can begin preventing mould from recurring after you have removed existing mould. Fitted bedroom units and wardrobes can be more challenging to move away from the wall since they cannot be simply pulled away. It does not mean that all hope has been lost, as there still are steps you can take to make things better.
You can provide some much-needed ventilation by drilling holes into the back of the wardrobe. This will allow any excess moisture to escape. The wardrobes should be heated (even if it is a constant low temperature) as well to prevent damp.
Taking these measures will not solve the problem, so consider placing the wardrobe differently. There are different ways to avoid replacing the wardrobe and carpet, but none of us want to spend a lot of money on them. Fitted Sliding Wardrobes won’t cost you a penny to remove the bedroom doors and choose an open style storage theme to ventilate the room. A fitted wardrobe may not be salvageable in some instances due to severe damp. These cases might be better suited to a free-standing wardrobe or open shelving.
